About this event

The largest business to business awards in the building control sector, the LABC regional building excellence awards recognise quality in all types of building project.

LABC is the member organisation that represents Local Authority Building Control departments in England and Wales. The northern region features all authorities from the Yorkshire/Lancashire border to the Scottish border.

The winners of the regional awards go forward to the Grand Finals, which this year are being held at Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London on Friday, 9 November.

Capita’s Building Control team on North Tyneside provides a building control service for the local authority. It ensures building work is compliant with building regulations legislation plus safeguarding the health and safety of people around buildings. A consultancy service is also offered providing advice on construction and regulatory related matters.

North Tyneside Building Control and PCD UK Ltd were joint winners at the LABC Northern Building Excellence Awards. They won the category of the ‘Best Partnership with a Local Authority Building Control Team’.

PCD UK Ltd has worked with North Tyneside Building Control for several years, consistently ensuring they are kept up to date with live and prospective projects. Their schemes have included: domestic extensions; residential change of use; renovation of blocks of flats; and, most recently, new build housing in Dudley.

Throughout I have been kept in touch about road closures and access to my property. The area has been kept clean and safe, the men worked long hours, even under floodlights to complete the project. The road has been thoroughly cleaned and I can get the car into my garage again.
