RTPI Planning Convention 2019

Capita will be exhibiting at the 2019 RTPI Planning convention on 19 June.

The Planning Convention is the RTPI's flagship event, and the largest event in the planning profession's calendar. Each year the convention brings together over 400 practitioners, politicians, policy makers, developers, community and environmental professionals to address the current issues in the industry.

This year the RTPI convention theme is “The future of planning”, which will examine the future for planners and the planning profession. From understanding what good design is, re-imagining town centres and debating infrastructure, to merging tech with the practical.

The sponsorship holds a great opportunity for Capita to exhibit and showcase how automation and machine learning are changing the way we deliver planning services.

Representing Capita at the RTPI event will be Andy Foster, Business Development Director and Stephen Ottewell, Director of Planning and Building Control.

Delegates will also be able to attend Andy Foster’s breakout session which involves a 10-minute talk on “Merging tech with the practical” where you’ll hear about practical examples of how tech can be integrated into your everyday work, and how it can benefit your role as a planner.

This will be a practical ‘non-techie’ exploration of how Capita are using machine learning and automation to take some of the strain for the 8000+ planning applications Capita process every year whilst simultaneously improving customer experience for applicants.

Andy will introduce delegates to Capita’s latest recruit, Ellie (Capita’s first non-human ‘Planner’), who is helping to transform how we deal with Planning applications.

Visit our exhibition stand and learn how using technology in the planning services is good news for councils, applicants and Planners alike and how automation & machine learning are changing the way we deliver Planning services.
