About this event

The theme of this year’s Solace Summit is Future Horizons, and will focus on how local government leaders can maximise the opportunities that lie ahead while successfully managing the risks to local communities as change accelerates.

We will be holding two sessions in the innovation zone:

Wednesday, 17 October 12.30-13.30

Keeping it personal: the new era of customer experience

As we enter a new dawn of hyper-personalisation and digital consumerism a new wave of opportunity for citizen interaction and commercialisation of services is exposed. This future focus session will discuss why councils should focus on collaboration and concierge, from using data as a driver for change to introducing robotics to improve citizen interaction.

Key topics:

  • One Citizen Hub – reducing functional silos with a system that is built around services and people rather than processes and systems
  • One Bot – an innovative Bot builder to engage with citizens via multiple platforms
  • Automation and robotics – creating a hyper-productive environment with humans and robots working together
  • Data analytics – using the wealth of data that councils have to join the dots and provide a more holistic view of citizens – driving intervention and prevention strategies and evidenced based planning.

Speakers: Neil Grogan, Capita solutions director and Kana Butkovic, Capita chief product officer.

Thursday, 18 October 10:00 – 10:45am

The Cloud: Lighting the spark of change

As the foundation for all the new and emerging technologies, the cloud helps deliver better services today and offers a platform for innovation in the years ahead. Come along to our future focus session where we’ll discuss why standing still is simply not an option for public services.

  • Why now is the time to move to Cloud (4 industrial revolution, world = one connected computer)
  • Addressing key concerns
  • CXO – top tips for getting started

Speakers: Kana Butkovic, Capita chief product officer
