Life at Capita…
Tell us about your role at Capita Local Public Services?

I am business services director for Capita Local Public Services. In this area of the business we have over 2,500 employees responsible for delivering a wide range of back office and customer facing services, on behalf of our local authority clients to help them deliver more efficient and sustainable local services. I have overall responsibility for the operational performance of partnerships where we deliver business services and also work closely with our clients to ensure we have the appropriate delivery models in place to meet the current and future needs of our customers and their residents.

What is your biggest success or proudest moment at Capita?

Securing , delivering and then retaining a number of  large partnerships with local authorities, several that will run for over 20 years

If you could describe Capita in three words, what would it be?

Focused, high quality, high value

What do you like most about your role?

The variety of the role and the ever changing market means I get to work very closely with our clients and  building up relationships, which means we can support client challenges to the best of our ability.

Tell us something people might not know about Capita Local Public Services?

It’s where Capita first started in 1988, so it was the start of something really big- from two employees to over 75,000.

Over to you…
When you were a child, what did you dream of being when you grew up?

A professional footballer and wear the number 7 shirt for Chelsea like my childhood hero – Charlie Cooke

What do you do in your spare time?

Still play football (although I accept will never fulfil my dream of being a professional now), golf and socialising

If you had to eat just one meal for the rest of your life what would it be?

Tandoori mixed grill

What was the best piece of advice you ever received?

“Whatever you do, do it to the best of your ability” Said by a school teacher I never actually saw eye to eye with. It was only when I left school I fully embraced it. At least if you do that there will be few personal regrets about not giving it your best shot and it applies all aspects of your life, family, work, sport etc.

Tell us something people might not know about you

Hard to believe but I used to style my hair like Marc Bolan off TRex!
