Re is a joint venture between Capita and the London Borough of Barnet. It was set up in 2013 to improve and deliver a range property, development and regulatory services to local authorities and commercial organisations.
What is the team responsible for?

The team facilitate the physical delivery of regeneration projects within the London Borough of Barnet through directly liaising with private developers. We are supporting the development of new homes, retail and leisure offerings which in turn will create employment opportunities increased footfall to the borough and further investment.

As Re is public /private joint venture business between Capita and Barnet Council we bring together substantial expertise for managing the boroughs growth and development of some of London’s largest regeneration sites.

Roughly how many people are in the regeneration team?

There are approximately 32 of us.

Describe a typical day in for the regeneration team
  • Liaising with clients and developers to ensure the smooth delivery of projects
  • Engaging and communication with residents affected by the regeneration project and ensuring they are involved in the process
  • Recording and escalating any risks, issues and challenges that may occur with the projects
  • Keeping the projects moving

What is the proudest moment for the team?

The Delivery of OneStonegrove, a joint community centre and church which opened in July 2016. This scheme was also shortlisted for an Inside Housing Development Award in the 'best residential' development category

Tell us something that people may not know about the regeneration team

We have two apprentices within the team, we are giving them the opportunity to understand the business are supporting them whilst they develop their project management and business administration skills within the regeneration industry.

We also participated in Barnet Councils Platforms Programme, which assisted in getting young people into employment. This created numerous internship opportunities within the team, helping young people to reach positive destinations.
