Capita awarded revenues and benefits contract with Harrow Council

Capita Local Public Services has been selected to partner with Harrow Council to deliver flexible revenues and benefits processing services at times of peak demand, in a five-year contract with the potential to extend for one year, worth £4.1 million over the full life of the contract.

Capita will provide Harrow Council with access to additional resources when the workload requires it, for example for legislative changes, specific projects or during workforce shortages.
We will create better outcomes by maximising the efficiency of collections, helping to deliver value and in turn protecting front-line services.

Simon Freeman, managing director, Capita local public services, said:

“Having partnered successfully with Harrow Council on an interim basis, we are delighted to have been awarded this contract. Capita’s track record and scalable support expertise puts us ahead of our competitors in delivering vital support services such as this. This win is another example of Capita helping to drive efficiencies and create value in the local authority market.”

Fern Silverio, Head of Collection and Housing Benefits at Harrow Council, said:

“We look forward to partnering with Capita on the delivery of our revenues and benefits service. This contract will enable us to deliver the best possible value for money and ensure we can always meet demand.”

This win is the latest success for Capita’s Local Public Services business, which has recently announced new contracts with Westminster City Council, Brent Council, and Ealing Council, as well as a number of other arms-length management organisations (ALMOs) across London.

The contract supports Capita’s transformation plan, put in place in 2018 to ensure the company is a good corporate citizen, a responsible and reliable partner for clients, an innovative industry leader in software and technology. It also supports Capita’s new focus within the local government market, as clients move away from large-scale transformation partnerships to more transactional services.
