We are pleased to announce that our revenues team at the London Borough of Bexley has been shortlisted as a finalist for the IRRV performance awards.
The IRRV performance awards recognise achievement of those working in the fields of revenues, benefits and valuations. They provide a platform for organisations to showcase their achievements.
The revenues, benefit service and customer contact centre at the London Borough of Bexley Council has been outsourced to Capita Local Public Services since 1996. By working in partnership, the service has continued to deliver improvements, including the extensive use of digital solutions in order to meet the corporate objectives and customer services.
The submission reflects the record breaking revenue collection in Bexley, and importantly how this supports the council’s strategic vision of becoming self-sufficient.
“I congratulate everyone involved in making the finals, which is fine example excellent partnership working. Through our work with Capita we have continued to innovate and improve the service, which is helping to improve customer service and achieve our goal of being financially self-sufficient by 2020.”
Councillor Don Massey, Cabinet Member for Finance and Corporate Services
“The collection rates for council tax and business rates are the best they have ever been since we began working with Bexley. One of the reasons for this is that we are offering residents more choice and ease when it comes to paying their bills.”
Mark Chapman, Business Services Director, Capita Local Public Services
The IRRV says that this year’s awards attracted the largest number of entries for several years.
“It is a considerable achievement to reach this stage of the process; you should be proud of this success.”
Gary Watson, Deputy Chief Executive of the IRRV
The Institute will be visiting Bexley over the summer as part of the judging process. Winners are announced on awards night on October 19th 2016.
