Girl power is hitting North Tyneside – and Capita is doing its bit to help.
Atomic Girls and Capita have designed a day to inspire Key Stage 3 learners, in years seven and eight across North Tyneside schools.
Atomic Girls is an initiative by Atomic Skills who are part of a forward-thinking network of organisations taking action to increase the number of women in science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) careers.
A cross-curricular workshop will offer pupils the opportunity to apply STEM knowledge and skills to solve topical problems.
It will explore global sustainable development goals through design thinking to lead to a strong understanding of how STEM disciplines are used in the real world to influence innovation and change.
The event recognises the vital role aspiring female engineers and scientists can play in making an impact on global economic matters.
Female professionals from Capita will be there to inspire and mentor alongside the Atomic Skills team, to deliver a packed agenda to celebrate International Women in Engineering Day on June 23, 2019.
Capita, in partnership with North Tyneside Council, deliver a range of technical services including engineering, property, planning, building control and public protection.
