Capita announces extension of contract with Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea

The new contract extension is for the next three years, running until 2018.

The Royal Borough’s business rates collection has been one of the top five performers out of the 33 London boroughs in recent years, and has not fallen below 99% since 2010. Capita has collected business rates under various contracts for the Royal Borough since 1992. The total collectable business rate debt in the borough in 2014 was £294m, collected from over 8,500 properties.

The new extension will see Capita introduce a number of new systems over the next 12 months, such as an electronic document management system and self-service functionality. This will improve services for both local businesses and the borough.

"The Royal Borough are one of Capita’s longest-standing revenues customers – and this long-term commitment is the result of our dedication to client satisfaction. We look forward to working with the borough for another three years – and hopefully long into the future."
