Capita’s planning team has been shortlisted at the 2019 Planning Awards

After winning the “Local Authority Planning Team of The Year Award” in 2018, Regional Enterprise (Re) Ltd, Capita’s joint venture partnership with Barnet Council has been shortlisted for the 2019 Planning Awards in the affordable housing category.

This time around our entry has highlighted the collaborative ways in which Re has been supporting the London Borough of Barnet by processing planning applications and providing specialised planning advice to support the client’s affordable housing programme.

This has not only resulted in the provision of an additional 320 affordable housing schemes across the borough, but it has secured well designed schemes that protects amenity, enhances neighbourhoods and is meeting the needs of the borough’s diverse communities.

The planning awards recognise excellence in both planning and placemaking. This means that as well as recognising outstanding professional planning work, they also reward excellence in planning-related activities such as placemaking, urban design, economic development, housing, regeneration, legal advice and environmental consulting.

Fabien Gaudin, service director of planning and building control, Re Ltd, said:

"We are delighted that the efforts of our planning officers to deliver 320 new affordable units across 25 schemes of all sizes have been recognised.

This programme highlights the key role that planners have in supporting development that delivers real outcomes for the most vulnerable in our community”

The awards ceremony, which brings together professionals across the industry for a night of both celebration and networking will take place at a central London venue on the 4th of June. We hope the team can take home an award for the second time.
