Creating a new and improved outside area for Ribblesdale high school
Landscape architects from Urban Vision, our joint venture with Salford City Council and Galliford Try, are currently involved with redesigning and enhancing the grounds of Ribblesdale high school in Clitheroe.
Working with a multi-disciplinary design team led by Lancashire County Council architects, the landscape team are providing their services from the concept design stages to the construction phase.
This involves designing improved car parking, enhancing security and accessibility aspects and also creating multi-use playground areas.
Works include realigning and extending the existing hard-surfaced sports area, with new ball-fencing around courts for netball, basketball, tennis and small-sided football, extending the outdoor dining area with new hedging to provide more privacy for pupils, and planting trees to provide wider environmental benefits and privacy for houses adjacent to the school.
The team also designed additional secure boundary fencing, extra parking for school staff and paving outside the two new school buildings, including steps and ramps for easier access.
Works are due to start on site this summer and the finished project is expected by October 2020.
