Capita’s Strategic Property team has helped progress the regeneration of a coastal site in Whitley Bay.

Capita’s Strategic Property team working with North Tyneside Council has successfully marketed the site of the former Whisky Bends pub on the Promenade.

Compass Developments Ltd has bought the site and intends to build three, four-bedroom townhouses, each with two parking spaces.Subject to planning consent, the homes could be released for sale by summer 2019.

Speaking of the latest triumph, Graham Anderson, chairman of Compass Developments Ltd, said:

“Whitley Bay is a really up and coming area, so we were delighted to be chosen as the developer for this great location.”

Property Management is just one of the many services Capita currently provides to North Tyneside Council.

Currently, footpaths in Wallsend town centre are being improved by Capita’s construction team. They are on site laying new flagstones on the western side of Station Road – after improvements to the eastern side last year.

When these works are completed at the end of March, the team will move to another area of the town centre, Park Road. Here they will replace the existing paving, two tactile crossings points and damaged kerbs.

Other services Capita provides the council with include highway and engineer planning, building control, public protection and strategic property and facilities management.
