Urban Vision

Urban Vision is our joint venture with Salford City Council and Galliford Try bringing innovation and skills from the public and private sector for development and regeneration across Salford.

It was created in 2005, when Salford City Council entered into a twelve year joint venture partnership with Capita Local Public Services and Galliford Try to enhance, grow and modernise key council services. In February 2017, Salford City Council triggered the three year partnership extension, allowing our partnership to continue until February 2020.

The first partnership of its kind in the UK, Urban Vision harnesses the expert skills and experience from both the public and private sectors within the property, highways, planning and regeneration arena.

 Our key services include:

  • engineering and infrastructure consultancy
  • engineering statutory services
  • planning and regulatory services
  • property and design
  • highway maintenance
  • laboratory services.

The objectives for joint venture was to:

  • assist Salford City Council with budget pressures
  • improve services for the people of Salford
  • improve performance indicators
  • safeguard staff
  • provide economic growth and financial returns.

Since the launch of the partnership over 10 years ago, we have improved performance against key performance indicators, delivered significant efficiency savings, created new market opportunities and business growth, significantly invested in staff and facilitated regeneration and jobs growth that has changed the face of the city of Salford.

Urban Vision now has over 250 clients across the UK, delivering services from pre-application planning advice through to design, comprehensive project management and scheme delivery of all sizes.

Urban Vision has been a valuable partner since we first formed the alliance. The partnership extension will provide further efficiency gains and more savings for the Council, without affecting service quality and performance.

Given the speed at which the scheme was designed and has been constructed, the project has gone remarkably smoothly and this is largely due to the efforts of Urban Vision’s Landscape design team

The project incorporated green infrastructure by using sustainable urban drainage systems (SuDS). SuDS reduce flood risk and improve water quality by slowing down rainwater flow.
